How Did Amitabh Bachchan Come On Board For KBC?

Producer Siddhartha Basu had earlier opened up about how Amitabh Bachchan came on board for KBC Company. In an interview, he revealed that Big B had one condition before saying yes to being the show's host. Siddhartha had said, "No megastar had hosted a TV show in India, or anywhere else for that matter. The intention was to make the biggest bang possible. Amitabh Bachchan took some time to make up his mind about doing TV and was generally being counselled not to do so. However, he decided to see the recording of the original show (Who Wants to Be a Millionaire) in London before making up his mind. Once he saw it, he decided to do the KBC company with one rider so that we replicate the conditions and discipline of that show.

Show Theme

KBC company shortlists 10 people for each episode, they are known as Fastest Finger First or FFF contestants. They are given a question where they have to arrange the options in the right order. The one doing that most promptly is given the chance to be on the Hot Seat and play for 2 Crore Rupees through a ladder of ten questions. He is also given three lifelines in the beginning, "Fifty-Fifty" which leaves one correct option and one randomly selected one on the contestant's screen. The second lifeline is "Audience Poll" and the third is "Phone-a-Friend".
